Dressing Up a Simple Bookcase.

With inspiration from the incredible blog Centsational Girl, I decided to tidy up a corner in my bedroom I lovingly called the corner of doom by setting up some new shelving in the space. With just a yard or two of gorgeous fabric, I was able to give a simple and (shockingly) inexpensive bookcase a colorful backdrop, making it a hundred times more glam than its budget price tag could reveal.

I lucked out and found this amazing coral Dwell Studio fabric discounted to $10 a yard at JoAnn Fabric, so I bought 2 yards, knowing I'd have at least half a yard left over to use for another accessory in the room. The bookshelves were $16 each at Target. That's not a typo, that's a dollar sign-one-six, sixteen, $16 USD. So each bookcase cost me less than $30. And best of all, I finished both within one nap time.

What do you think? Did you guys do any fun projects over the weekend?
