Now that Freddie is off and running (on all fours, naturally), there isn't a moment of stillness in his world. There's nothing less fun for this nine-month-old than being in one place, so he's exercising his ever-increasing mobility to escape my camera lens, making these monthly photos harder and harder to capture.
He pulls himself up to standing easily now, which makes him thismuchcloser to taking those imminent first steps. It seems that every day he makes a new discovery about his abilities and spends the rest of the day perfecting the new skill. I love watching him learn how to communicate with his big brother and everyone around him through hand signals, head shakes and "words." I think they boys actually understand each other quite well and their relationship gets stronger and more hilarious as they get older.
I love that we're now moving beyond the "baby" phase and into a more exciting active phase with Freddie. Don't get me wrong, I love some sweet baby cuddles, but I *really* love little personalities, strong opinions, playing with toys and the endless discovery that comes with becoming mobile and approaching a first birthday. Let the fun begin.
