Some Recent Work.

I teased you guys a little with some inspiration photos for this art deco train series, and in the end I'm so happy with how it turned out. I can't wait to see it in this little guy's room. When I hung this one up in my son's room to take these photos he got SO EXCITED about the "choo-choo train" that was on his wall - I know he'll be sad when it goes, but I kind of like that his wall gets to be a rotating art gallery!

It's hard to see the colors in these photos (I'll get better at capturing the true-to-life colors of the paintings, promise), but it's a deep orange, light blue and navy blue combo.

I've really liked painting on these 1.5" deep canvases since the sides actually become part of the art, and the depth makes the paintings feel almost sculptural on the walls.

I also finished up a fun dump truck series a few weeks back. The color palette was actually really similar (a popular choice for little boys!), and the design equally graphic and simple.

You can check out some more of my recent work on the Gallery page.
